In odd years, SECEC is offering several travelling fellowship options, among which a fellowship in Japan and Korea.
The next fellowship will start in Autumn 2025.
What does it consist in
- Travel to Japan and Korea
- Visit to 8 Education Centers (4 in Japan/ 4 in Korea)
- 5 - 6 weeks usually in Oct- Nov
Who can apply
- SECEC full members
- under 45 years-old
- certified orthopaedic surgeons with well-documented experience in patient care and scientific research
Organisation
Whilst SECEC is responsible for selecting the two fellows among the applicants, this fellowship is organised by the Japanese (JSS) and Korean (KSES) societies, who are responsible for:
- scheduling the visits to the 8 Education Centres, usually in October-November (dates and itinerary are not changeable)
- booking travel and accommodation
- all expenses in accordance with the societies' travel policy:
- flights, train, car and public transports
- hotel rooms
- attendance to the JSS's annual meeting
On their return, fellows are asked to prepare a detailed travel report. They are invited to present it briefly at the forthcoming SECEC Annual Congress.
