In even years, SECEC is offering several travelling fellowship options, among which a fellowship in the USA in partnership with ASES.
The next fellowship will start in Autumn 2026.
What does it consist in
- Travel to the USA
- Visit to 8 ASES Education Centers
- Participation in the ASES Annual meeting
- 5 - 6 weeks usually in Oct- Nov
Who can apply
- SECEC full members
- under 45 years-old
- experienced orthopaedic surgeons with well-documented experience in patient care and scientific research
Organisation
Whilst SECEC is responsible for selecting the two fellows among the applicants, this fellowship is organised by the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), who are responsible for:
- scheduling the visits to the 8 Education Centres, usually in October-November (dates and itinerary are not changeable)
- booking travel and accommodation
- all expenses in accordance with the societies' travel policy:
- flights, train, car and public transports
- hotel rooms
- attendance to the ASES' annual meeting
On their return, fellows are asked to prepare a detailed travel report. They are invited to present it briefly at the forthcoming SECEC Annual Congress.
