Join a SECEC Committee

The SECEC Executive Committee is pleased to invite all eligible members to apply for open positions on several committees for the 2026–2028 term.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of shoulder and elbow surgery in Europe, while expanding your professional network and collaborating with other leading specialists across the field.

Committees with open positions

  • Programme Committee : at the heart of the organisation of the annual congress, this committee is responsible for building and coordinating the scientific programme : selecting sessions, reviewing abstract submissions, and ensuring the highest standards of professional development for all delegates. It works in close collaboration with the congress co-chairs, Digital, Junior, Education and Research committees, and the appointed PCO.

  • Membership Committee : this committee is responsible for defining the evaluation criteria for Full, Junior, and Corresponding membership, and works closely with National Delegates to identify and recruit new members. It also ensures that the value of SECEC membership is meaningful at every career stage with the overarching goal of meeting the diverse and evolving needs of the SECEC community.

  • Junior Committee (for Junior members only) : dedicated to early-career shoulder and elbow surgeons, this committee fosters a dynamic community through tailored member benefits and educational activities. It oversees education initiatives (Online Shoulder and Elbow School, Morning Coffee podcasts) and live sessions at the annual congress, in close coordination with the Programme, Membership, and Education Committees.

  • Research and Development : this committee aims to foster the scientific culture of SECEC by awarding research prizes and grants, evaluating award nominations, and overseeing research projects for the benefit of the entire SECEC community.

  • Support Committee : this committee is dedicated to the development and promotion of shoulder and elbow surgery in rising economies which represent a growing force in the advancement of surgical knowledge and practice. It aims at fostering the integration of all surgeons in the SECEC Community by promoting access to cutting-edge education, encouraging European collaboration through a dedicated fellowship, and opening research and collaboration opportunities.

Please note that all committee members, regardless of their area of involvement, share a common commitment to the association and as such, they will all be invited to contribute to the abstract review process for the annual congress. This collective responsibility reflects the spirit of engagement that drives the SECEC volunteer community.
